Back at the house, Cedar spent his weekend chatting and hanging out with Twitch.
Or staring out the windows, waiting for Plumbob knew what to happen . . .
Holly took the time to hang out a bit with her youngest son that afternoon, though he didn't seem terribly impressed with her topic of choice or her enthusiasm for it.
Meanwhile Hawthorn still refused to go outside unless absolutely unavoidable. He much preferred to stay inside with his video games.
And to continue to lick the plates when he thought nobody was looking . . .
That night Holly got an invitation to a formal party from Elias Smith. It had been a while since she'd seen him last, so Holly agreed. Unfortunately when she got there, the 'party' seemed to consist of just her, Elias in a tux and a roaring fire place. Uh oh . . . did he . . . ?
It seemed he did. Well, Holly was touched. This was the first time she'd gotten flowers rather than being the one to give them out. Yet she had an obligation to fill and couldn't forget her purpose, no matter how sweet Elias was. She was sure to give him a big ol' hug, though, and cemented in her mind that they would always be friends, no matter what.
