Normalcy is Overrated

Hawthorn wanted nothing to do with going outside, so he wouldn't be found out on the playground like some of Holly's other children. Instead he made good use of the computer games.

And the video game systems hooked up to the various TVs.

And he had a rather . . . unique way of cleaning his dishes.

Kale could frequently be found out in the garage tinkering with the inventing station crafting Plumbob knows what. By his expression I think everybody should be a little more nervous.

Yah . . . it was inevitable.

While somewhat amused by his cleverness, mom wasn't above putting the guilty party to work cleaning up the mess afterward.

That night the Wood household had a surprise, unwanted visitor. When the alarm went off Holly was quick to run down stairs and see what's what.

Maybe the burglar thought the house of a single mom would be an easy mark. Little did he know that Holly had given birth to ten kids. He never stood a chance.

Nobody threatened her babies and walked away unscathed.

After the police came (and the burglar got away AGAIN) the house attempted to get back to normalcy. Kale showed an uncharacteristic streak of compassion and read his shaken-up little brother Hawthorn back to sleep.
